Act now for Nature Funding

Less than 0.1% of Australian tax dollars are spent on nature. It’s nowhere near enough.

Australia is the only wealthy country on the global list of deforestation hotspots. No other country has sent more mammals to extinction. Our iconic animals like Tasmanian devils and quolls face growing threats like habitat loss, invasive species, and bushfires.

The Government’s commitments to protect 30% of land and sea by 2030 and to prevent new extinctions are what nature needs. But they must be backed by funding to succeed.

Investing 1% of the Budget in nature would give Australia’s wildlife a fighting chance. It would also benefit people by:

  • boosting jobs in industries like agriculture and food production
  • supporting regional economies
  • reducing the impacts of disasters like fires and floods for communities

We all want our kids and grandkids to experience the wildlife and landscapes that makes Australia so special.

Add your voice to tell the Government it’s time to back its promises by investing 1% in nature in the next Federal Budget.
